The above four are among the best and most frequently used Google SEO Tools. But there are other FREE Tools from Google which are great for SEO.
Lesser Used Google SEO Tools
Well, the name “Google Trends” describes itself. While we talk about what’s Trending, Twitter tops the list, but Google Trends is such a wonderful SEO Tool you can actually use to find if the search traffic for a specific Keyword is an upward or a downward Trend. As an example, I have compared two search terms , “How to start a blog” and “How to create a website”. You can see notice how the Trend is more for Creating a Website than a specific blog.
Well, that make’s sense since a website is more generic and caters to local businesses across the Globe.
So, if you are a web designer or a Business Development Manager, then you are more interested to know the Demographics, basically, which parts of the world use the search terms “How to create a Website“. Google Trends show you that information as well.
You can also use this Tool to find the most searched content historically (for last year) for a specific geography.Although not a great Google SEO Tool but still provides a great motivation to create content for Upward Trending search terms.
Google officially announced in 2010 to include Page Loading Speed as a new relevancy signal in their search engine algorithms.Although there are only less than 1% search queries which would be affected by site speed signal.
Alike Google, I suggest you to start looking at your Page Loading speed via HTML or Via Chrome since Google may use Chrome data to access site’s speed.
As a first step, I suggest you to use Googles Page Speed Insights Tools to fix errors in your code. You actually don’t need to be a Coder to fix that. Just enter your blog URL (like blogduster.com) and you are ready to go.
I am not a big fan of Yahoo, but YSlow from Yahoo really works.
WebPageTest is another great Tool to analyze your Page Speed. It provides a WaterFall view of Page’s performance, along with other Key statistics.
This is one of the Tools which you will require at a later stage while you blog to keep you updated about a specific search string indexes. This will let you know if there is any new content related to a Keyword and will keep you updated about the ongoing Competition. e.g I have kept an alert on “How to start a Blog“.
There are other Google SEO Tools as well , which can be used to perform On-Page SEO optimization.
- Google Consumer Surveys
- Content Experiments
- Google Places
